Plat Beach is located only two kilometres from the village of Mlini in the direction of Cavtat, and it encompasses several smaller beaches – a true oasis of peace and quiet. One of these is a naturist beach intended for those who would like to enjoy their privacy; it is separated by rocks. The other coves of this beach are suitable for singles and couples as well as families with very small children because the entrance into the sea is very shallow and therefore perfectly suitable for children who are not swimmers.
This beach is located in a small village called Popovići in Konavle, 16 kilometres from the village of Mlini in the direction of Cavtat. This is a beautiful secluded beach that can only be reached by descending long and very steep stairs cut into the rock. With as much as 250 metres of elevation difference, the descent itself is a unique experience. Because it is barely accessible, it is rarely crowded. It is not suitable for boats to anchor there. As such it is ideal for young couples, romantic souls and those who would like to enjoy their privacy, fine sand and crystal clear sea.
St. Jacob's Beach
St. Jacob's Beach is considered to be one of the most attractive beaches in the area of the city of Dubrovnik. It is only one kilometre away from the centre of Dubrovnik and seven kilometres from the village of Mlini, and it is located under the Church of St. Jacob, which is also where its name comes from. This is a really unique sand and gravel beach, but since it is only accessible by steep stairs, it is not the ideal choice for elderly persons or those with physical disabilities. The beach offers various sports services and events, from the rental of kayaks for exploring the coastline and rental of jet-skis to picigin matches (traditional ball game played in shallow water). You can refresh with a cold drink in the shade of the bar.
This is one of the most famous pebble beaches in southern Dalmatia, and it is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Dubrovnik, that is, nine kilometres from the village of Mlini. The beach can be reached by stone stairs, so it is not suitable for elderly and physically disabled people. The beach offers a spectacular view of the old city walls and it is often featured on postcards from Dubrovnik. It houses a restaurant in which you can taste Dubrovnik's specialities and a bar in whose shade you can enjoy a cocktail. Water scooters, paragliding, water tubes, bananas and other water sports are available for those of an adventurous spirit. At night, this beach turns into an elite place for a night out in Dubrovnik.
At about eight kilometres from the village of Mlini, on the island of Lokrum, there is a rocky beach of the same name. Its biggest fans are adventurers who practice acrobatic jumps into the sea. Since they offer a high level of privacy, most of the beaches on this island are of a naturist type. Lokrum can be reached by private boat and reaching it by kayak has also become popular recently. During the summer months, there is a regular boat connection from the port of Dubrovnik.
